Some time back I posted concerning installing push button hood hold down pins on my cafe racer seat. It worked well at first but after hitting the same rough railroad crossing several times the push button part started to failed. I replaced the first one that failed and checked that the seat was well supported by the hard rubber blocks around the button. I replaced a couple more of them that failed a week later. I liked being able to get the seat off with just a push of buttons from a maintenance standpoint but it seems they just aren't strong enough to take the load or shock. In retrospect, the hole thing wasn't very well thought out. I'm now back to the 4 6mm bolts into nuts welded to the frame. For the ones who question everything, I started with the bare frame and never had the Yamaha seat! I just hoped this would help others avoid making the same mistake!
