Hello everyone. It is a beautiful day here in VA and I CAN'T ride!!!!!!!!!!

I need some help. I have the original chain and it keeps coming loose. It even jumped off the sprocket the other day as I was turning a corner. Fortunately nothing happened. I put the chain back on and rode home, but this spooked me.

Why would the chain keep coming loose? I have tightened the pullers several times and it still gets loose.

Can anyone help?

Your chain seems to be quite old and the more you tighten it, the more it keeps getting loose and drags out even faster.

I suggest to take a look at the gearwheels (is it the right word) too. If they are ablated you should change them too as they might not fit correctly with the new chain.

never never never put a new chain on old sprockts!!!! the wear of the old sprockets will eat your new chain in a very short time! especialy if your chain and sprocket is worn as bad as it seems.
typicaly these parts wear together and deform at the same time and rate!
