Hey dudes, I just picked a high performance chain and sprocketsprocket for my xs. I noticed that now the chain is rubbing the case. Was wondering if there is a spacer of some kind I can put on before the front sprocket. To get a couple millimeters I need? Thanks everyone!

Your new chain is probably an o-ring chain.
The general advice has been to avoid them for precisely this reason.
Haven't seen anyone mention a spacer though one post suggests that with some wear it'll eventually clear.

Adding much space at all would push the sprocket nut lock washer beyond the alignment grooves. Wouldn't want to lose that nut on the road.
Might be able to machine a depression into the outer surface of the sprocket to keep the lock washer engagement but again I wouldn't want to risk the integrity of that setup by removing material.

I put a 530 o-ring chain on and never noticed it was rubbing the case until after I took the cover back off and saw the marks. No ill-effects on the chain or engine aside from the new groove. It sure didn't take long to fix itself, only a few miles.

Just ride it and you'll forget it was ever rubbing.
