Hey all,
I just got a 1979xs400 and at the very beginning of the process. Right now the goal is to get in running again bcs she has been sitting since 1983!! Brakes have no pressure so something has to be rebuilt there and I am sure every peice of rubber on her is cracked or needs replacing. I bartered painting my friends house in exchange for the bike and hope it was a good endeavor.Looking forward to picking some of you all's brains for advice and knowledge.This will take some time and lots of $$ but looking forward to sunny Sunday afternoons, wind blowing in my face, cruising on classic Japanese metal.
 
Welcome! Might as well start tearing into it. Go through the fuel system and brakes... Get new tires even if they look good.
 
will do Travis thanks for the advice bcs the tires do look fine but the rubber is ORIGINAL hehehe. I cant believe it.The guy parked it in '83 and there it has sat since. The bike was like four years old?!!
