it all depends on exactly which components you want and how big you wanna make it. I built mine for roughly $3. Granted I had a few odds and ends laying around I was able to use. I think mine would have been more like $8 in the end.
$4, but plastic tubing costs more in Canada. I just used tubes and ATF. Held it in my hand, watched the fluid and tuned.
