Matt's Xs250

Hi guys my name is Matt. 17years old and i brought an xs250 of a family friend. He couldnt get it to start of the button, so when i got it, looked into it and found the chain from the starter motor had came off. Put it back on check etc. Then put it back together. Checked the sparks and only had one on the right hand side, due to the points i believe. Got it ruining on the one side just. Got it out of the shed the other day with my dad, and we tried to fix the problem with the left and side. As my dad went for the throttle, it cut out, started her back up and it happened again. Did this multiple of times, then all of a sudden it wouldnt start. Only got power to the clocks and nothing else, press the starter button and nothing. replaced the starter solenoid, and still nothing. Can someone help me please? cheers
