New XS400 owner!

Hello all,

I am the proud new owner of an 81 XS400. I am having trouble deciding whether I want to restore or customize my new bike. Any advise or comments on which would be more beneficial?

This is where I am torn. I like the idea of having the vintage look. But after seeing the Cafe Racers and Bobbers on here I kind of want to do something to that effect.

Personally, I'm doing a soft restore first. I want everything to be good before I go and mod it. So, semi stock?

That may be the way to go. Slight mods, but keep it looking vintage

That's the problem, I don't know what I want to do haha.

I stare at blogs like Bike EXIF and Pipeburn to get ideas. With luck, you'll have the bike for a long time, so figure out what you want, and then figure out how to build it, in that order.
