petcock size for my new alien tank

so i have holes for 3/8 and 1/4" petcocks on my new alien tank, but which one should i use? new to the switching tank deal so any help would be great, thanks boys

What is your concern with using one or the other? What's a "new alien tank"? The bike's in front of you, not us.

it a bobber style tank, i dont know if one will supply too much or too little fuel or if it needs to be vacum operated? because of the CV carbs or what

Size doesn't matter. Well, at least in this case it doesn't. Float bowls in the carbs will regulate the amount of fuel, and the vacuum isn't even necessary. Lots of guys have bypassed them.

He's right. Go with what you want. 1/4" is plenty big to supply all the fuel you need and it's impossible to have too big a line.
