Ok so im a new rider and i just got an 82 Seca R 400XS. Love the bike and the look but i need to make it alittle shorter and some how narrower. I removed the seat and lowered the mono shock still sits high. Even if i trim the seat down i still feel to high up. Any suggestions? Like can i change out the shock for a shorter one, or in combination cut the front forks? Thanks for the help

Wow - you need it dropped. You've done all the easy things. If you have the fab skills, you can make the shock shorter (typically needs different frame and/or swingarm mounts.) Or you can go for a full on custom hardtail frame, which would allow you to run a very thin seat, mounted lower on the frame. That may be your only option, if you're totally sold on the Seca.

I'm shocked - my inseam isn't crazy, but on my Maxim, with my seat lowered, I'm feeling pretty low...
