I bought a replacement solenoid off ebay and it came with no instructions or markings as to what goes to starter etc. The two larger posts with nuts have no markings?? which is the M or P? Is there a preference ?? I read online it does not matter?? Surely not?? The wires on the new solenoid do...
After another week of never being sure if the bike would start, I finally replaced the rectifier with a NOS one that cost around $140 US with postage and finally seem to be starting first go.
I had my key redone in Australia at a locksmith at Sumner Park Qld for around $35..... as long as I knew the number that was written in the cylinder where the key goes. I had one company want to charge me $250 to do it including a call out charge so it pays to ring around.
Just replaced the condenser and that has seemed to help with the recharge problem. The new condenser had different connections to the old condenser. As you can see in image provided. Had to reuse old plastic coupler set/ wire holder as I could not get a new one which matched the old coupler...
I got the headlights working once I rewired my make do fuse system. But still the battery is an issue where it does not recharge. Got a day off work and I am working on it today.
So last week I redid allot of stuff and when I redid the leads connecting to my ignition coils and spark plugs my bike kicked over. Battery did not recharge though so I am going to replace regulator. I finally have some time today and I will go over wires and points as you suggested. cheers.
