I have a painter friend who did it for trade for a seat upholstery job. It's three colors of flake, a candy coat and then 5 coats of clear! Pretty bitching, huh?

Thanks guys! It's been my dream for a long time and I'm stoked I was able to convert it relatively easily to rip on the track. It's a bit big but I can still slide it around, though I am nervous about scratching the tank, haha!

Yeah, I've seen that one. I just don't want to pay over $500 just for a tank. I could have a fiberglass one made for cheaper. It's just for racing so it doesn't need to be NOS. Thanks though!

I need a square tank for my '77 xs400. Any tank after 1979 will not work!!!!! I have been looking on ebay and NOTHING! Any leads would be appreciated, I'd rather not spend more than $100. Thanks.

I've been MIA for a long while, but now I'm back. Currently I am flat track racing my bike so it looks a little bit different than this first pic, but tell me what you all think! New seat, tail section, paint job, custom exhaust, tomasselli handlebars, throttle, grips, Dunlop 60/40 tires...

Also, does anyone know if the engine/ stator cover and plate are the same on all XS's? Mine broke when I got hit and there's one up on ebay right now but it's from an '82. I'm assuming it's not but I can't tell from the picture.

I really like how that looks, I'm thinking of going with 14" Hagon slimline twin shocks and I think actually just adding the height I may not even have to move the brackets to get a slightly more upright, dirt bikey feel. Awesome. :thumbsup:

So, I'm rebuilding my little tracker for the second time after getting hit for the second time! Idiot drivers, :banghead: I'm taking it from a pretty basic cleaned up street tracker look to a little bit more of a dirt tracker/dirt bike/trials bike/bratty look if that makes sense at all...hahaha...
