I got everything centered now, with the speedo drive tight to fork. I think the issue is the axle itself. The larger diameter part is too long and doesn't allow the axle to go far enough in so I can put the cotter key in other side. Did Yamaha use different axles on different wheels?
Im converting my xs400h to mag wheel and disc brake. I put wheel and new forks on...but it doesnt look right to me. the wheel is offset towards the caliper side more. I mounted the new caliper and it seems to fit, but the opposide side has too big of a gap. could I get some input on if this...
Could I just purchase one fork? Whichever side has the mounting for a Caliper? If not, what forks would fit? I see some on eBay for 82-83 maxims. Any help would be much appreciated!
Hers guys. I own a 1981 xs400h in which I'm converting to a cafe. I purchased a 400s wheel and disc. I've been looking at the mikesxs page and saw they have xs650 calipers. Would they fit my bike? And is it plug and play with the braided brake line and perch/master cylinder? Thanks.
We'll I think I'm gonna just strip the bike and start customizing it, then wire up the bike from scratch. I wanted to just get the bike running at first, but it might as well dive right in. Thanks all for the help! I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future.
