so maybe some of you guys can help, couple of months ago i started my bike. Took it around the block a couple of times.. no problem. So a couple of weeks ago i go to start the bike again and realize i lost my keys. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::doh: so i take the ignition and go to the local locksmith and get keys made. I go ahead and plug my ignition, turn the key and nothing. Headlights don't kick on, nothing. I check the battery it is a 100 percent charged. Now due to a recent injury i just haven't had time to mess around with all the wiring and tearing the bike a part. I have messed around wiht new fuses and nothing. The only thing i can think of was when i removed the ignition i had to tug a little on some of the wires coming from the headlight. Is it possible there is another connector in there that might of came loose? like i said before due to injury i just havent been able to take things apart and check.. Is there anything else i should be checking or looking for that could the root of my problem??

thank you.

Since you only played with the ignition switch since it last ran, check there. Make sure its connected properly and check all those wires you were yanking on. Might help to get a wiring diagram if you dont have one yet either.

drewpy what would be the best way to check if it is the ignition itself? and is there away i can just bypass the key ignition

You need a wiring diagram (available for download here), a #2 Phillips or JIS screwdriver, and a multimeter.

Find the ignition switch in the wiring diagram, remove the headlight, disconnect the wiring connector for the ignition switch, and test it with the multimeter. It is possible that the locksmith had to take it apart and didn't reassemble it correctly.
