Hey all,

I've been searching the internet for more information on pma electrical systems. This is more so out of curiosity. Does anyone have an understanding of how it works? Pros/Cons? Can this even be done on an xs360/400? Word.

I googled it, and can't see how it can be used in a 30 yr old design.

it ties in all the electrics sharing the power systems and I assume, sets the amperage etc. very simple machines don;t need this sort of tech.

Vehicle Power Management Applications

Power Management is the intelligent use of available power in a contained power system. On-board vehicle power management application (PMA) is the system level software that performs power management for vehicle applications.
Benefits
Power Management Applications reduce fuel consumption, extend mission time, and reduce costs of maintenance and repair through:

Power Optimization of Electrical Loads or Subsystems
Load Prioritization / Reduction / Shedding / Reconstitution
Identification of Degrading Loads Based on Power Usage or Other Parameters

haha, why don't you know that drewpy! i thought I could rely on you. ;)

let's play the waiting game and see if shamus chimes in.

I'm gonna bet on that power magnetic alternator thingy or whatever it is. Too lazy to scroll up, and this thread is silly enough as is that this should slip on by :p

Well considering we already had a vague context of what the answer was going to be, it was hardly 'unknown'. Additionally the thread was 1 post, from you, about the PMA and then everyone guessing. So most of the the thread was guessing.

Guessing is silly.

Ipso facto... the thread is silly.

I am however extremely interested in this PMA thing. =)

Sorry I was extremely vague. I assumed someone more knowledgable than I would have picked up on what I was saying. Apologies.

Let's keep the silly going ... I'm with you shamus ... PMA kit from Hugh's Handbuilt is an all inclusive bag 'o goodies for the XS650. I'm curious too if that can fit in the little brother.

I have an XS650 ... maybe I should buy one and if it doesn't work on the 400, use it on the 650 (cuz I have more dollars than cents / or is it sense).

It seems some one on here did a PMA swap. As I recall They had to grind abit inside the cover for clearance, but it worked well.
With a quick search I found it. Don't know how to link to it but the guy was madpressdog thread upgrading charging system.
Just search Banshee Swap.
