Hey all, got a guy parting out an 82 xj550 and am quickly trying to assess whether it's worth my time to go see if he has any parts I could use for my xs400j. How close are these bikes? He has a way better seat than mine, different part numbers but he thinks it would fit, plus he has other parts as well. Any idea?

Quick answer: No.
The light bulbs and fuses should interchange. Beyond that, you will have to compare part numbers and if they aren't the same, they probably won't fit without work.
