I am guessing dead battery. doesn't want to keep a charge. Other thoughts you need to test the Rectifier, (per manual) or Voltage Reg. My first scare to new posters, is always check to see if one of the two bundles of wires, that goes down, at the chain drive, and then they disappear under the front of the seat. Right where they come out from from the engine, and just before they go straight up. One of the bundles may sound and feel "Crackly" Which is symptom-attic of "need to rewire Stator" Which is crazy as it may be, "Drewpies Re-wire" I used 16 guage, found everything at Menards, or a boat store.
