So i am new to the motorcycle world and i just picked up a 81 XS 400 Special 2, about 2 months ago. I am currently having problems with the fuse box and dont know where to start. the bike runs fine sometimes and then others it will just lose power randomly, and i have to fiddle with the fuse box to hear a clicking sound till power returns. It hasent been much of a problem recently as i only loose power once of every three times i take it out. but now however the bike looses power everytime i take it off the kickstand. I am wondering if i should replace the fuse box or just clean it. I dont know how to do either of these things any info would be a great help.

Cheers boys

These are also available at most good auto parts stores. They come in different sizes.

Those old round glass fuses were crap when new, they haven't gotten any better.
Replace them with the new blade type fuses. Either individual inline holders or a fuse box.
