I am looking to get mufflers for my 82 maxim. Just wondering if I would be correct to assume that to install them I would have to cut off the stock exhaust somewhere before the taper and insert them? If so would they slip in or over the current pipes? The ones at mikesxs are all 1 7/8 OD and 1 3/4 ID.
