Hello guys,
hope you dont mind me joining with my little 82 XS250 DOHC.

well, im from Australia, and just bought a 82 XS250 DOHC, not my first bike, and not my first bike restoring, but my first bike in modding. my little collection of bikes are:

79 Suzuki TS185
83 Honda CBX650E
83 Honda VF750F

my idea for the 250 is to turn it into abit of a Brat/Bobber styled bike, but sort of just doing what i think is cool. and to show that you can mod a bike with very little skill, and a little budget, so it wont be a show bike, but will be a "Town Terror" just something i jump on and duck down the street on.
:bike:

1st pic - when i picked the bike up
2nd pic - how it kinda sits at the moment
3rd pic - my other bikes

Welcome to the forum! I didn't even know there was a 250cc version of the DOHC engine. Liking where you've got your bike already, it's got the kind of profile I really like. Also dig your VF750, they're gorgeous bikes.

so yeah just ordered a heap of parts, speedo, handle bars, exhaust, exhaust wrap, seat foam, seat material, new levers.

for the Aussie members - im trying to follow the ADR rules as close as i can to get it passed when time comes, want the bike all legal so some mods HAVE to be done the way im doing them

done a quick before and after on the carby hats (both polished up now)
Pod filters on
cut the front guard short.

started painting some stuff today, started with the top triple tree and handle bar mounts, fitted the handlebar, just waiting on Speedo and levers, then i can tidy up the front.

And started to sand back the tank, spray putty etc trying to get it smooth, one small ding on the top and a few little scratch marks

be careful with those cheap pod filters.. they have a lip inside than can restrict airflow through the ports on the back of the carbs...will make tuning the carbs difficult.

i like the fender short, thinking of doing that to mine as well!

first attempt at painting, (thats not from a rattle can :p ) its only the first few coats, still needs to be sanded, painted, sanded, painted, sanded, painted, etc then cleared.
