Hey guys new rider here! I just got a yamaha xs 400 and I got it running today! But the battery is not charging....I'm new to bikes anyone have any idea what it could be!

Been trying to figure out why my 81 wont charge! i cant figure it out!!!
There's a diagnostic in the manual. We have two threads at the top of the garage with different manuals.
Check your voltage at 2000rpm. Also do the resistance checks on the stator windings and field coil.
Let's us know what the results are.
