I have an '82 xs400 maxim DOHC. Just bought it and planning to make it into a cafe racer but the previous owner completely bastardized and frankensteined the wiring. So I have no idea where to start. I have seen plenty of wiring diagrams around the net but I don't know if thye are custom wiring jobs or if they're stock. If I need to do a custom wiring job I don't know what wires to use or the type of battery to use. The racer will have less wiring than the original because there are certain things I won't be inluding on the bike.
