Hi all.
I’ve been a member for ages but haven’t logged on for a while due to being off the road. I’ve recently been given, yes, given, an 82 xs400 12e. It was in a sorry state but the donor gave it to me because he knew I already have 3 xs400 twins. Now comes the downside: I had the frame chemically stripped but in the process the chemicals also removed what I think must have been a damper, or insulation, kind of gasket fixed to the frame where the engine mount bracket goes. There is no part number shown on any of the diagrams that I have but I wondered if anyone could give me a clue as to what the material should be and its relative thickness. I can replicate the shape easily enough as the outline is obvious enough to see on the frame.
Hoping someone can help as I’m itching to get started on the primer.
Best wishes to you all
