Has or does any here use a lithium battery vs an acid lead core.what the advatges and disadvantagesother than say price? Are they worth the extra cash and can you get more life out of lithium battery?
I don't have any personal experience with Lith Ion batteries in bikes, but I do plan to use an Antigravity in my current build to hide it. They look pretty good and you can find one rated to match the stock battery specs.
Bottom line: AGM is most cost effective. LiFePO4 if you can afford to save the weight AND are willing to respect the differences.
This past spring I opted to replace my 12Ah 120CCA lead acid battery with a Yuasa YT12A-BS 12Ah 175CCA Lead-Calcium AGM battery. The weight is similar between the batteries, despite the new battery being higher capacity. I wanted a battery that would start my bike in cold weather (below freezing) because zombies don't care about the temp, and I still want to get home. Or because camping in the fall is nice, but the mornings can be cold and having to mess around to get the bike started would be a bother.
