The bike is a 78. Maybe its possible somebody has put different carbs on? I have no clue what needle it is honestly.

Inside the top of the carbs there is the diaphragm and the slide and spring and needle. My question is about the little plate that the large spring sits on. I am re assembling the carbs, and it looks to me like if this plate isnt floating off the bottom of that side, then no fuel is getting into...

So im just going to have to figure out the proper jet size then, between the shortys and pods and the elevation i think its going to take some time to figure out. Is there any other jets that anybody recommends changing, like I said, this stuff confuses me.

Hey fellas, I live here in Montana at about 6200 ft of elevation. I just finished my build and im having a bit of a problem with my carbs. They have been rebuilt with 132.5 mains. I am running pod filters and emgo shortys. So, with the 132.5's, it idled smooth but when running it down the road...

So if I got new handlebars (which I did) should I strip the paint off of them so I can get that ground off the handlebar switch? Not fully strip the paint but just the spot I need, you know what I mean.

Is it fairly common for those solinoids do go bad, I mean it is 30 years old.

How can you tell it's the 78E rather than the 79f? You must have a good eye haha.

What would that make this thing then. Pretty sure its the 78 400E but more opinions is always good.

Hello Gentleman, Guy I bought the bike from said it was an 83, but I'm fairly certain it isn't. Anyways, I didn't have the vin before but now I do. The number on the bike is 2L0-000595. Just looking for a definitive year. Thanks!
