    Thx Jeff. I used the original floats which still had bouyancy, and the float needles and needle seats and screens were new from what appears to be high quality carb rebuild kits direct from Japan. Clew

    Getting to the final stages of my build, an 81 xs400 special. Converting it to a scrambler style. I've thoroughly cleaned the carbs via dismantling, soaking and compressed air.     Possibly the carb float is not sealing, and the too high fuel level is being sucked into the carb. Clew
