Just in case anybody else gets here looking, i ended up using a utility knife blade. I carefully inserted it into the middle of the gasket then tapped it with a hammer. You have to replace the gasket anyway and the thickness of the blade was just enough to break it loose.

Thanks to inputs from rshutchison I found and ordered a new set of spokes from MikesXS instead of reusing the old spokes. Does anyone know the torque specs for the new spokes? I checked the manuals on this forum and I don't see what the torque is supposed to be.
