so i have decided to lower the front forks on my 82 xs 400 . I wanna go about 2 to 3 inches on the drop , but i have also read about using a pvc spacer at the bottom of the tub.. if i cut 2 or 3 inches off the spring how long or short should my spacer be ???

ok so i have owned my 82xs400 for about a year. She runs great but i have trouble keeping up with friends when we go riding round town .. so i was curious as if there are any ways to get a little more top speed out of my bike ? ANYONE know the best way to do this with out doing any internal work...

i had the same exact problem. it was the pickup coil..

well i got a pickup coil off ebay . replaced it and bike runs great . man im glad i found xs400.com thanks guys..

so i have no spark on e one cylinder ... checked both coils ,plugs, battery, grounds and all the basics . i guess now i gotta look at the pick up coil .. how hard is it to check / replace the pick up coil ????
