hi,

Just got a fantastic XS400 2e and loving it.
It goes great alongside my RD250 1979

The problem I have is the kickstart rubs hard against the rear brake pedal.
The PO had pulled it half off the shaft so it cleared ok but not happy with this.

I cannot move the brake pedal anywhere - is this normal??

Sweet ride.

My kick-start clears the brake pedal by about 1/2".
In what way are you trying to move the brake pedal? Should be able to unscrew the retaining bolt to wiggle the pedal off. Might be able to rotate something to get clearance.
Hard to tell from the photo.

The bolt clamping the brake pedal has to come out completely if you want to pull the pedal off to rotate it to a different position on the shaft.

ics to show what I mean.
Possibly the brake pedal is off diff model.
If I bolt the kickstart fully on the shaft it catches against the pedal and does not fully
turn the engine over.
However if I half bolt on the kickstart it clears the pedal.
