HI all - Im new to the group, so ill apologize ahead of time if this question has already been addressed. I do not have an xs400.....i am actually building a 1974 bmw cafe racer with a r90/6 engine. I have adopted a 1966 headlight assembly from a honda cl77 305 scrambler, that includes the tac/speedo. The replacement sealed beam is a 6-3/8' diameter unit which is tough to find. cross referencing , i found that the early model xs400's and the early honda cb450's had the same size lens. A standard 7" will not fit, and there are very few of the correct size available.....mostly on Ebay and are used. Has anyone ever fitted a new LED light assembly into the bucket for a xs400? or has anyone had any success in locating new sealed beams replacement lenses? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Cheers.

It sounds like you're just looking for a standard 6.5" inch headlight? Try using the searching for the nominal size (6.5") instead of the actual size (6-3/8th) headlight, should come out to be the same size.
A option would be to just do a light bulb conversion, although you may need to modify the bucket to get a better beam.

I just bought a LED headlight off ebay.

It is very close in size to the original bucket, and the threads in the bucket match the threads on the OEM turn signals.

I haven't hooked it up yet, but it looks fairly decent.
