Got a few more things switched. LED headlight and signals. Plasti dipped the tank and covers. Found a tach cable at the cycle salvage and ordered a 2.5" mini tach from DCC. Tried to find shorter throttle, clutch and brake cables with no luck. I'll leave them as is for now and maybe work on them...

Thanks, Spectra. Once the battery delete is done and the electronics are cleaned up under the seat, I will add the H-pipe back on. This really rips for a 400! Quite a difference than when I rode it home in stock status. Trying to keep it a daily driver as much as possible so tackling projects...

I purchased it with full intentions of going either brat/cafe or tracker with it. I'm going to do a battery delete so needed to eliminate the stock air box setup. I'm open to suggestions on quality aftermarket filter and exhaust options. Experimenting with a couple different looks until I settle...

Update: ended up ditching the jet needle i got with the kit and going to the local hardware store for some tiny washers to shim my old needle. 2 washers up and its idling great. A little popping at times though. Maybe need to adjust air/fuel mixture?

So, i missed a small but important step. Turn the petcock to PRI and let sit for a while.... Came back after an hour and bumped the start button and it fired right up. Seems to idle great. Will ride to work in the morning (5 miles) and see how it does.
