What did you do with your XS today?

I do have a spare arm but decided against extending it now, I'm going to mod the seat area of the frame. Gonna drop seat and shorten it. Kinda like what requiem did in his brat build but lower and shorter

    Chain and sprockets

d'ohhh, i wish i read this a few days ago as i just ordered 17/39, i really wanted to lower the RPM's but thought 16/39 --> 17/37 might be too dramatic

clutch in or out to kickstart?

ive always hated this because back when my bike didn't like to idle, it occasionally died while i'm coasting to a light or slowing down. i wish i could just clutch in and kickstart it while i was riding instead of trying to find neutral first.

Altering the sprockets for relaxed riding

And I don't think 2 less teeth in the back is gonna make too much of a difference... I mean, the bike feels plenty torque already (relatively) at 100-120kph and anything above that is fluff. Hmmm.... I'll let you guys know what I end up doing

Altering the sprockets for relaxed riding

Because I'm about to order new chain and sprockets and thought I'd get it all done in one shot. I'll probably stick to just doing the 17t for now then if no one has experience

    Tell-On-Yourself Thread

Was on a really nice ride out to Tofino on vancouver Island. A friend and I are making good pace and getting in a groove, using all the road up. 130kph coming around a sweeper, I drift intentionally outwards to pass a car on the inside lane but then notice theres a 1 foot wide patch of very...

Altering the sprockets for relaxed riding

I have a '79 which runs pretty decently, it will hit 155kph on a cool day. I do a good amount of rides that last an hour or so on the highway. My question is, does 500rpm feel that much different at 120kph? I'm very tempted to go 17-37 (stock is 16-39) but also scared to ruin my acceleration...

    80mph tumble

Thanks for the story, I've been wearing my armored mesh jacket alot more after reading this thread last week. Denim jackets look so damn cool with the retro looking bike, but I guess there's a price to pay

I just cleaned mine out for the first time a few days ago when I changed the oil. Make sure you have a new gasket on hand because I didn't and now it's leaking. I'm just gonna goop it on for now

By gauzy filter you mean the metal mesh filter right? It's the access cover with 6 8mm bolts right at the bottom centre of the motor
