    removing elecric starer....

My question for anyone who has actually completed the electric start delete is... how did you seal everything up after removing the starter? The hole where the starter gear engaged, the bolt holes in the starter cover, the hole for the starter wire. Did you just use black RTV silicone sealant...

    Opening the Tach Gauge

Anyone know how to open up the tach gauge? The screws holding the gauge face in place have come loose and now the face is spinning all over the place. Any tips or previous experience would be greatly appreciated.

Main jet size + crazy idea

Simplest thing I can say is that the jets SHOULD have the size stamped on them. I know when I pulled out my stock ones they had a size stamped on them. And yes, stock main that I pulled out of my 1981 special II was 135.

    Bobber project in Sweden

Looking awesome! I have two questions for you. The gators on your front forks. Are those the length that you bought or did you cut them? The ones I got seem too long... And as for your indicators, I bought a set that look pretty much identical to the ones you have, but they aren't pulling...

About to jet, need some guidance.

Phone quality video. When it revs up it looks white in the video but it's actually orange, honest! Haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtube_gdata_player&v=ObI8xKzaOQM

About to jet, need some guidance.

Okay, so I popped in the colourtune this evening and have some updates. With oiled pod filters and stock pipes, the following settings gave me blue flame (ideal mix) at all rpm both in nuetral and under load (3rd gear rear brake full on.) Under hard snaps of the throttle the flame is orange...

    Signal Help

This happened to me too. The actual switch mechanism had some surface corrosion on the leads. Dismantled it, which as 63-coupe said, was pretty straightforward. Put it all back together and works perfectly.

About to jet, need some guidance.

I'm planning to chop off the trumpet muffler portion and then extend out the pipes with more 1.5" pipe. And yes it will affect my jetting needs.

    carb tuneing

Ideally if properly synced and both having the same jet settings, one shouldn't be richer/leaner than the other. But this is the real world, so in that case you actually WOULD change the jets individually for each carb while still maintaining the sync.

About to jet, need some guidance.

Main jets I bought 145, 147.5, and 150. Pilot I only picked up a 45. The american/canadian models came stock with 135 mains and 42.5 pilot. I installed the 147.5 main and the 45 pilot and raised the needle by one step (4th groove from top) but I haven't cut the exhaust yet so it's not a...

About to jet, need some guidance.

So I'm about to jet for my pod filters and straight through exhaust at the same diameter. I picked up a few up size jets from xs650direct and also have my colourtune in hand. I'm going to start with 2 sizes up on the mains and one size up on the pilot. I've yet to see if I need washers or...

Thanks! I'm definately liking how it's started to take shape. The brackets are just made of 1/8" steel plate that I hammered to 90 degrees. They are attached to the shock mount. It's a temporary thing until my new signals arrive in the mail. I'll take a close up picture for you later today...

Yeah, solinoid being stuck makes a lot of sense actually. I'll give it a go this evening. Thanks
