    Rollerburn '11

Went to a bike show last weekend hosted by Sideburn magazine. For those who have never heard of Sideburn they are a UK based magazine that specialise in flat trackers and any custom builds that take their fancy. They also have a pretty good blog too. This event was dubbed Rollerburn as they...

    Rear Master Cylinder Question

I thought I would strip down the rear master cylinder to see what condition its in and to check out the seals. I've taken off the rubber boot and the circlip and was wondering what to do next? From the parts diagram I can see that there are 2 circular washers with cut-outs and I can see these...

    Rear Bearing Spacer

I think I need to fabricate a new rear bearing spacer (goes between the bearings in the hub). Does anybody have one of the spacers handy from a mag disc rear wheel (1979 XS400 D) that they could measure with some Vernier calipers? Thanks for any assistance

Picture of rear drum brake pivot

Do any of you good folks on here have a picture of a rear drum brake pivot/pedal set-up? Preferably from the other side so I can see the spring and pivot arm. Thanks :) (1979 XS400D)

    London International Custom Show (LICS)

I've been to the LICS '11 show today as it is only about 1mile from where I live. It only seemed about half the size as last year, I guess the "credit crunch" as they call it here in the UK is making its mark in the custom bike scene. I was a bit disappointed really as it was mainly Harley's...

    Minimal handlebar and switch gear

I would really like the clean up the handlebar area and have it as minmal as possible, but at the same time here in the UK we have to have lights, turn signals, mirror, horn etc, etc. Any ideas, thoughts, examples of good ways to do this much appreciated. I've looked at small micro-switch...

    Starter motor blanking plate

Like a lot of people I'm going kick only and have removed the starter motor. What are you using to blank off the hole left by the starter motor? If enough members are needing a blanking plate maybe we could get a batch fabricated? Also, if you remove the starter motor how do you fasten the...

    Seat pan fixing ideas

I need some ideas for how to fasten my seat pan to the frame. The seat pan and frame are pictured below. The pan has to be fairly easy to remove so I can access the tray underneath for the electrics (and maybe battery). All the ideas I have seem to involve welding bolts to the pan and...

    Intro and Build

Hey everyone, my name is Caddy and very happy to see there is finally a dedicated forum for the XS400. I recognise a good few names from other forums already so this one is off to a good start:thumbsup: Like a lot of people recently I have been inspired by the Wrenchmonkee/Bratstyle builds...
