Mine uses the rear motor mount, but the stamped numbers say its from 79-82 so its either a 79 or 80.

They flood easy so u may have to pull the plugs and clean them off. was it always this hard to start? Could be a carb problem. also...i gotta ask...is your fuel on? No kinks in lines?

When i got mine running it seemed to do exactly what your drscribing. all i did was change the plugs n only do half choke if its been sitting. otherwise i just use the throttle gently and when it starts i go half choke to.keep the idle up till warm.

Sounds like u have some bare wiress that touch. brst bet is uave a buddy compress forks n see if you can find wires touching something they shouldn't. or just inspect for bare, broken, or damaged wiring. and the headlight thing sounds like someone wired something wrong. almost like your coil is...
