Hi, everyone.
As the name states, I'm new to this forum and to motorcycles in general.
Bought a 77 xs400 about a month ago and it started acting up once I brought it home. From what I've read, the symptoms seem to point to a vacuum leak (hard start, inconsistent idle that will often slow until it cuts off, only running with choke on, low power, etc).
I've done the good ol' "spray starter fluid on the carb boots" test and haven't found any obvious signs of a leak between the carb and the motor.
So my question is: where else should I look for vacuum leaks and how?
EDIT: could the bike be lean for another reason (like jetting)?
