The 77-D xs400 came with bare aluminum mag wheels and the 78-E was black. Looks like those have been painted by someone at some point and the rotors cross drilled. Good luck with your sale.

Oh ok, they are an extra pair that came with the bike i bought. Did any bikes around those years come with gold wheels ?

None of the sohc xs400 bikes ever came with gold wheels or cross drilled rotors from the factory. I do think some early 80's yamaha's did have some gold anodized wheels but not an easy to chip off paint.

Forsure the rotors arent stock but i believe these are factory gold wheels chris because of the texture of the paint. Its neither powder coating or spray can. They have the texture of the black rims on the bike already. I will ask the guy that i bought the bike from because these came with it. I have an xs750 Iam building also and want to sell them to get some funds to get it going.
