Hey all, I am a complete newbie to this site and to the motorcycle world. A year ago I purchased a 1980 xs 400 and with a new battery it started right up. Since then i have taken off the old carbs and put on pod filters, ive rewired the battery cables to fit a new battery with F1 terminals and built a battery box for it that is smaller. I took off the ignition unit and the rectifier and regulator in this process but reattached them today once i finished installing the battery. I also replaced the fuses. I changed the oil about a month ago. When i turn over my ignition my neutral light and oil light turn on but when I try to kick start it, it doesnt start up. I can hear the engine turn over but it doesnt fire. Any suggestions? It has been sitting for a few months before I did the things mentioned above. Any and all feedback would be great! Thanks
