So after cleaning and rebuilding my carb I started putting it back together and when trying to screw the float bowls back in 7 put of the 8 screw holes on the carb turned out to be stripped. If you look at the pictures they are the screw holes that attach the float bowl to the carb itself. The underside where the screws go through doesn't have enough room to put bolts there so I'm out of ideas. Any help appreciated I don't really want to buy a whole new carb.

Re-tap for the next size up.
If you are not too worried about keeping it "original" you could also thread it for an "American" thread size. Would need to check to be sure but something like a 10-24 or 8-32 might work.

Don't know the metric size without going out to shop to measure but if you want to keep it more or less original(aka all metric and same size) there might be a "Heli-coil" kit in the correct size.
