Ok so I take the carbs apart to clean find some damage inside to a brass seat from possibly a previous cleaning. :banghead: I cant get a decent pic as its the one the float valve sits in. So i order a set of carbs off ebay,(praying that these are not damaged and I can get a set of carbs out of the two) The rest of carb seems fine. The seller promptly shipped out a box and had tracking info within 45 mins. I was excited. I get the box today and it only has shredded paper, a pc of plastic, and receipt. :wtf::doh::confused::mad::banghead::(:laugh: So i call them up and he says thats why there still sitting here:laugh: told him to tell his guys to stop smoking at lunch if they cant handle it LOL He was very good they are sending carbs with a couple freebies (front brake line side cover and hardware assortment) over night. So I was happy by end of call. I have been working on paint on tank and Im switching out mufflers as the previous owner cut out the baffles. Going to clean up mufflers and use high temp header paint on headers. Tank needs wet sanding and maybe another coat of gloss before clear coat. Im waiting on gaskets for float bowls, clutch cable and speedometer cable. Going to pick up an inline fuel filter, fresh oil, filter on its way also, got lots of dirt that will be coming off and pcs to polish but plan is to be :bike: before summer is out. If i have too im saving up and buying one I can jump on and ride LOL but this one WILL run again!!

Yea blacked out with as much shiny pcs as i can clean and polish or paint :D but ive been thinking about later maybe getting some stencils and an airbrush. I have no issues with pulling tank and fenders and breaking out the sandpaper. For now I just wanted it cleaned up. The paint was peeling real bad on one side. Also I know I can do a much better job now that I have some more space for it, also that knee dent tank write up is so tempting. lol I showed my buddy and he helped sand it, while I was sanding it he kept asking "When do i hit the tank with hammer?" He was so disappointed I really want to make one just not yet lol. This site is so awesome and all you guys that have contributed thanks so much cause this was about the most perfect starting point I could have stumbled upon. SO much info and ideas here I have to walk away cause It all runs thru my head. I have to focus on main goal of just getting a reliable stock bike on the road. So many details. So far been couple headaches but I think the bike is in good enough shape to bring back to life and get a season out of her before its chop chop time LOL IDK tho that cafe that Sandrew built is so sweet I seen that bike in a dream the other night. Gonna put a FULL day into just cleaning some stuff up tommorrow cause Im waiting on parts.

I pulled off the exhaust today and the other set I have is bent different. Quite different actually. Think Im gonna try and find replacement baffles for stock mufflers. Someone cut them out.

Common thing for people to do they dont like the stock sound and want louder.I only cut mine off because they were rust rotted right at the crossover pipe where it goes into the mufflers. Then I got another crossover which interferes with my center stand from working. Now I have just the down pipes with harley mufflers on it.Its taking shape slowly but surely but i never meant to take this bike into much as a project as i have.

Yea Ill deal with it until I get extra money but it is coming along. I just need to learn to just wait sometimes Lol Well here
