Last year I had new piston rings installed and rehoned the cylinders. After reassembly it wouldn't start.
Cue winter break...
Now I am right back at it and nothing has changed.
Any thoughts? This summer is the make or break, and I'd rather make!

Sounds like it wants to go.

There is of course the usual suspects. Air, fuel, spark, etc. Sounds like the plugs are firing and like it has some fuel. Carbs clean?
Leaves timing.
Running points ignition?
The lobed cam that actuates the points could be installed 180 degrees out. Easy to reinstall wrong and easy to fix.
Took too long to figure that one out on my xs360....

After I took the video I got it to put for 3 seconds with full choke and some fuel.
I am running points. How do I reinstall the lobbed cam? Please say it can be done in the frame...

Yeah. It's very easy. Remove points cover, remove bolt on the end of camshaft, pull out lobed cam, rotate 180, reinstall, reassemble.

Worth a try but if it runs at all it's probably not that.
Sounds like it may be very lean.
Do you still have the stock air filters to try?
