79 xs400 carb options

An old friend recently gave me a 79 XS 400, that I've currently torn down to the frame. This is my 3rd cafe project. Anyways I don't care for the cv carbs.....can anyone recommend mechanical carbs that will work on this bike with a 2-1 exhaust and pod filters? I need to know a pretty close to exact setup. Thank you

Whats better about a mechanical carb over a vacuum one? Also you could go with a 1 into two carb to make it more simple and cheaper. There is a good thread about how to do it here.

Mikuni vm26mm carbs are perfect! The 2-1 setup is actually way more expensive even though it's a great idea. I should have full details in the next month or so on my setup.
