'80 wheels work on '81 model?

Considering going to spoke wheels and I want to know if 1980 spoke wheels will work on a 1981 special model w/ mag wheels.

Should fit fine. Of course, you will need rim liners and tubes on the spoked wheels. However, the front wire wheel is most likely drum brake and your mag front is most likely disc brake so you would have to do some front brake system conversion - unless you are lucky enough to have a rare front wire wheel with disc brake. A new front drum cable is about $45 and not universal because of the special cable end at the wheel.

ahh I just juiced up the master cylinder and put a new braided line on it.. didn't think about switching to a drum up front. I'll just powdercoat the wheels then. Thanks guys!
