81 xs400 rear suspension question

Hey what is everyone running for rear suspension on their bikes? I have an 81 xs400 that I have put Monza shock absorbers on from Mike's.com. They look nice! however, they are WAY to stiff. I'm 210lbs and I have the shock absorbers set at their softest setting. I still have to take it gingerly over some bumps. If anyone can help me out that would be great!

Hagon is your best bet if you want something that performs properly. Just send them your bike model and rider weight and you are good to go.
There are always the Chinese shocks that everyone buys, but those are a crap shoot on quality. Been there, done that.

We ordered YFI (chinese),for the scrambler build and they'really doing good,plus they have an air port to adjust...

Tires also play a role in "suspension". Maybe get a bigger size tire next.

Over size tires make for poor handling.

Handling overall may suffer, but more road shock will be absorbed.
