81 xs400 special ignition

so last week while riding, the circuit board for my ignition burned 2 resistors. i tried to repair them with no luck.

i would love to just replace the whole system with something new, as the vintage boards on ebay are damn expensive!

any advice? ive seen the pamco ignition on mikesxs.com, but it says "for points model only". has anyone ever removed the cover on this model and replaced the system?

Pete has a pamco replacement available for the tci bikes too.

If you're running the '81 stock 3ohm coils make sure to get the "HD" version.

It was only released earlier this year but I think at least two members are running them now and both got great reviews.
