'82 XS400R Spark Plug Gap Size?

Okay, I found THIS site and opted to go with it's specs for my '82 XS400R.

I have a NEW question: Does that data, which suggests my gap size should be 0.023 – 0.028, mean that I should set my gap size to ANYTHING AT OR IN BETWEEN these two figures or does it mean that ONE plug is supposed to be .023 and the OTHER .028?

It simply means that you can choose to set it anywhere in that range. A smaller gap requires less voltage to bridge the gap,and the larger the gap,the more spread out the spark flash with more fire. With electronic ignition, you should have plenty of juice to fire a larger gap. That being said,my Dt400 with CDI specs a 0.24" gap. lha

I opted to go with a down-the-middle setting of .026 - tell me if this is too much ;)

What are the pros/cons of a smaller vs. larger setting?
