So, I'm in the process of rebuilding the carbs on my 80 xs400 (BS34) and pretty much have one of them back together, when I noticed that the Pilot Air Jet (#55 on page 67 of the Haynes manual) says that it is a 155, I think (pic. added). And in the book it does not have that same description in the back of the book where the specs are.
So, we are at a mile high above sea level here, what would be the correct size for this and what is it officially called? I tried to look through old threads, but could not find anything.
Thanks!

I had the same issue last week. Haynes seem to have gotten that one wrong.
Almost ordered the wrong jet but fortunately I thought to sand all the crud off the old jet, saw the "155" and found forum posts about it confirming 155 for 80-82 carbs.

The Haynes label in that diagram is a bit misleading. It's just the "air jet"
Not sure about altitude adjustments for it.

You should have 155 and you don't need to change it to any other size. Use your idle mix screws to adjust the fuel for idle circuit.
