Battery wont come out of battery box- help!

I have a metal box holding a battery and rectifier/regulator thing. the battery isnt connected to anything but the rect/reg is. I tried to flip it upside down and hit it out but it wont come out. is there anything i can do? is my only option to unwire the rect/reg and then take them both out?

i got the battery out! it was superglued to the walls of the battery box.. ripped my cdi wire doing it

It's amazing what some people do to these things. This is why I would never buy a "custom" bike. I would go over every nut and bolt of the entire bike and make sure it's safe.
