Hey all,

I have a couple of questions:

1. New to the frame game and I'm curious as to which type of welding is the best to use on my frame. I'm in the beginning stages of a rigid tail conversion and need some guidance.

2. I'm pretty set on cutting and bending my own tubes for the rigid tail...ambitious I know. Are these tubes bendable with a handheld type of pipe bender or would I have to have that done for me by someone with a hydraulic bender?

Thanks!

Hoover, I tack with MIG and I had it welded with TIG.

What size tubing and wall thickness are you using?

You can use a bender like the JD3, it is non hydraulic, I like them for their accuracy and ease of use.

You will also need to make jigs to make sure everything is square.

If you are building only one frame it might be cheaper to buy your frame.

Good luck and have fun with it, sometimes the road is better than the destination, but be sure to count all the costs before you pull the trigger.

mig more for sure! nothing better than being able to use a free hand. but th most important is THE JIG like daddio said. nothing worse riding a bike looking like a sideways running dog..lol
