Hi all,
I'm a new member here and have loved all I've seen in this group so far. I just bought a '79 xs400 from a guy
who recently restored it. When I went to look at the bike, the bike started right up with the electric start as well as by kicking it. He had a battery from another bike in mine and told me I'd have to get a new one. No problem right? Well, I bought a battery (interstate battery 12N12A-4A-1) followed all the instructions, left it on a trickle charger all night and now it won't start! I've tried with the choke all the way open, half way, closed, kicking it, electric start.... nothing. A couple of times it came close, and I'm pretty sure I drained the battery again. If anybody out there can help me I'd appreciate it!
