Broke an extractor

Yeah just buy another one, they seem plentiful on ebay. Heres one for a BIN of $5, looks like you get the bolt and everything

tha's got the original head on as it is small, the updated ones are larger. BTW the bolt is the same for xj600 too (pre-diversion)

Cutting a notch for a flat screw driver has yielded the most consistent success for me out of everything I've ever tried.

I second this, I've had luck plenty of luck doing this, though instead of a screwdriver I use an impact driver.

An impact driver is a good thing to have for working on these old bikes!
